Clinton County Municipal Court Warrants
Frankfort City Court is the lower city court named in Indiana's official court-code directory, and within Clinton County it is the only one. It can issue a warrant when someone misses an appearance or fails to comply in a city ordinance, traffic, or lower-level case. Indiana sources use "bench warrant," "warrant for arrest," and "failure to appear"; capias is not the common public term in Clinton County. The court's code is 12H01. County-level matters run through Clinton Circuit Court 12C01 or Clinton Superior Court 12D01 instead. Get this division right, because a warrant stays valid even if you searched only the wrong court filter.
Frankfort's 12H01 Warrant Docket
Search Frankfort City Court records through Indiana MyCase when the case is public. Pick Clinton County–Frankfort City Court, then search by name, date of birth if you have it, and the citation or cause number. Read the docket line by line. Look for "FTA," "warrant," "warrant ordered," "returned," a payment, or a new setting.
12H01: The official code for Clinton/Frankfort City Court.
FTA: Failure to appear or answer as the court required.
Recall: The issuing court withdraws the warrant; the underlying case can continue.
Return: The serving officer reports the result back for entry in the court record.
Clinton County Cities With Municipal Courts
Frankfort City Court is the only separate indexed city court in the official Clinton County sources. Rossville and Mulberry keep town marshal offices. Neither town, nor Kirklin or Colfax, has its own indexed court. A marshal page is a police contact, not a city-court docket.

301 E Clinton Warrant Route
Frankfort City Hall and the city-court contact route sit at 301 E Clinton Street. The published clerk-treasurer and ticket number is 765-654-5715. Call first. Confirm the current courtroom or counter arrangement and ask what identification or papers the clerk wants. Then ask the real questions: does the file show only an FTA notation or an active warrant, will the court allow a new setting or payment, and does a judge have to recall the order? Clinton County readers should also know the city runs a MUNIS citizen portal, but it is not established as a warrant lookup.
Checking a Municipal Court Warrant
Use every applicable official channel because Clinton County has no sheriff-hosted city-warrant list.
- Search MyCase, select Clinton County–Frankfort City Court, and record the cause number and latest docket event.
- Call the Frankfort City Court contact at 765-654-5715 for current warrant, payment, reset, and appearance information.
- If the case code is 12C01 or 12D01, call the Clinton County Clerk at 765-659-6335 or the named county court.
- Ask the sheriff at 765-654-5563 about executable status or surrender logistics only after identifying the issuing court.
- Request a court document from the clerk or a nonconfidential law-enforcement record through Indiana APRA when it is not online.
The Clinton County sheriff, clerk, and court keep different records. A court request gets you the order or docket. A sheriff request reaches what law enforcement holds, such as a return or service log.
City Cases and County Systems
One division of labor runs through every Clinton County warrant: the court issues the order, the clerk records it, an authorized sheriff or police officer serves it, and the return goes back to the court. Frankfort Police may serve city process. The Clinton County Sheriff handles countywide enforcement and the jail. Neither serving agency can rewrite the court's status on its own. The county's official clerk page lays out the local court and ticket routes, so review the clerk's current contact page before picking a counter.

That clerk resource ties city and county questions together, but neither channel works as a public all-warrants database for Clinton County.
Inside a Municipal Court Warrant
A public Clinton County city-court record may show the warrant in the docket text. It can still omit a sealed order, a protected identifier, or an attachment.
| Cause or citation number | The identifier tying the warrant to the city-court case. |
|---|---|
| Court code | 12H01 for Frankfort City Court. |
| Case basis | The ordinance, traffic allegation, summons, or other public case information. |
| Warrant event | Issue, FTA, service, return, recall, quash, or closure wording and dates. |
| Amount or bond | Only the current court-confirmed fine, costs, or bond terms. |
| Next action | Payment, new setting, appearance, motion, bond, or another judge-directed step. |
Town Marshal Is Not Court Status
Rossville and Mulberry each keep a local marshal service, and both official descriptions mention limited hours with sheriff backup. A marshal can help with police routing or service questions. The marshal cannot replace the clerk as the source of a Clinton County court's active, recalled, or paid status.
Key point: Not finding a warrant on a police or sheriff page means only that it was not found there; call the issuing clerk.
Kirklin and Colfax publish no town police warrant page and run no separate indexed town court. For Clinton County cases from these towns, use the county MyCase, clerk, and sheriff chain rather than a directory or third-party roster. Confirm office hours before any visit. No town here advertises a warrant counter.
How to Resolve a Municipal Court Warrant
Start with the city-court clerk. Give the cause or citation number and ask what the problem is: an unpaid obligation, a missed date, an active bench warrant, or a BMV report. Then ask what the court allows. Payment online or in person, a reset appearance, a payment plan, deferral, bond, or a motion are all possible paths in a Clinton County municipal case. The prosecutor's forms page lists a Frankfort City Court infraction-deferral program, but joining it does not promise automatic warrant recall.
- Confirm the exact warrant wording and status date.
- Ask what the judge requires and whether counsel can arrange an appearance.
- Use the payment channel approved for the exact case and keep a receipt.
- If surrender is required, confirm the sheriff or jail reporting process before going.
- After court action, obtain confirmation that the warrant was recalled and that law enforcement received the update.
Warning: Paying a city-court balance does not by itself prove the warrant is recalled; confirm the judge's action with the clerk.
After Clinton County Municipal Warrant Action
Keep checking until the issuing court confirms the order is no longer active. "New date," "paid," and "recalled" are different events. Ask whether the sheriff and any BMV process have been updated too, and save the written order or docket entry for your files. A resolved warrant does not finish the underlying ordinance or traffic case in Clinton County unless the court separately disposes of it. Attend every new setting. Follow the court's terms. If arrest or surrender seems possible, talk with an attorney before you appear without a confirmed plan. Online information can lag: a newly issued order, a delayed return, or a record sitting in another court may not show up yet, and sealed, juvenile, or expunged material stays out entirely. A MyCase no-result means the search found no public record, nothing more. It is not a legal clearance. Have the clerk quote the current docket status, name the judge who controls the order, and keep that confirmation.
